Cactus Sprays

It is a question of how closely one looks. The two surface patterns, Cactus Sprays and Graphic sprays were inspired by a photograph of a large barrel cactus in the extensive desert garden of the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, California. The first, Cactus sprays, came from looking at the pattern made by the quills against the sky and the second, Graphic Sprays, came from magnifying the image and looking closely at the pattern of the surface of the cactus below the quills.
